Ahhh, the memories: Having my friends drag me up one of the hardest hills and leave me to get down by myself on my first day! (I was right under the lift so everyone could laugh at me again, and then again and again, as they kept going up the hill, and I'd make it about 5-10 more feet down the hill); going inside the cozy lodge to de-ice my frozen toes (do they still have good french fries and hot cocoa?); watching my best friend destroy her knees (TWICE!) and following her and ski patrol down the mountain; being forced to make new friends since my best friend who had talked me into skiing was now out of commission (although, I did get some nice skiis from her now that she couldn't use them); getting better since I now had to keep up with new friends who had been skiing since they were 2; (hand holding on the bus with new friend on the way home); driving to Kelly in "Little Red" and spinning out on the ice a few times thinking we were going to for sure end up in a snow bank.

(this actually isn't at Kelly...this is Heraman Park with Sunny, Emily & Rhonda...and we were cross country skiing. Love the purple sweats-though. I think I was summoning my inner incredible hulk.) This is me and my friend Kim, ready to attack the slopes. We are looking pretty sure of ourselves. (I think it is because we were meeting some boys there). Thanks to early years of scrapbooking, you can no longer see the slopes behind us, but that dotmatrix printer did a fine job re-creating the actual thing.
Haven't been to Kelly in years...but the thought of going down "Face" or "Skunk" makes me smile.

Leslie...you have no idea how much I have been thinking about the good old days at Kelly Canyon.
YOu know that I work with 6th Graders...well every other friday is ski school at Kelly. And it's exactly the same (except they all have snow boards.)
The kids want me to go so bad. I am very very tempted...but I don't have very good luck at Kelly. I would probably have to go down on the ski patrol sled again.
Oh...the memories.
Good, old memories. Those are funny pictures! Isn't funny how scrapbooking changes as much as clothing styles? Mitch took Garrett to Kelly Canyon last weekend for the first time. He says Hailey and I have to go with them next time. I am scared because I have only skiied like 3 times in my life and that was about 13 years ago and I am just not as limber as I used to be.
I am laughing so hard at the Kelly Canyon/ski school memories - I thought I was the only one whose friends deserted them and had to make it down the first run alone! One of my life's most embarassing moments happened at ski school. Oh, and the photo of us cross country skiing is great. I think my yellow coat is way worse than your purple sweats - what was I going for, the big bird look??
Thanks for the memories and the laughs!
Yah, when you're the youngest (akz spoiled) you get to do things like ski school. ;) J/K But just remember, those nice skis got an upgrade thanks to me.
