I had no idea that this:
could create this:
or this:
(by the way, our basement was finished, it didn't exactly look like this a couple of days ago).
Our ice maker malfunctioned early Sunday morning causing water to continuously run from the freezer, to the kitchen floor, down the air vents, through the walls, to the office/family room downstairs. I woke up at 6:30 Sunday morning and found the water. So...things have been a little crazy around here. We have been cocooned in the bedrooms (the only rooms that weren't effected), playing outside, and playing at our neighbors house (those Hazelbakers play one mean game of Pokemon Guess Who?). In fact, we've decided to take our summer vacation to Maine early so we will be out of the way for the restoration that will go on in the next two weeks.
Can we say...Baby hazard?!?
This is General Grievous and Darth Maul enjoying the outdoors this morning.

Oooohh, what a mess! And you had everything so nice. But, as President Kimball said to us at the time of the flood, "Now make lemonade out of the lemons." I wish I were there to take the boys right at first and then you could have come and stayed at our house.
I'm ready for another match of Pokemon guess who. This time it's just you and me.
I hope that the work goes quickly so you can get your life back in order.
So sorry. What a pain and an unexpected expense. Makes you wonder if ice makers and water in the fridge are really worth it???
Oh, I'm so sorry. That is crazy!!! How many rooms were ruined? So when will you leave for Maine? Does your insurance cover things like that? Don't you just love home ownership. ;) We had a toilet seal slowly leaking and never knew till I saw a drip coming from the downstairs ceiling. But we were so lucky, most of the water just went down to the basement bathroom which was tiled. Only sheet rock and paint damage. Yours looks a million times worse. Good luck. Try to enjoy your trip. I wish there was someway I could help.
