Seriously...?

I wasn't going to mope about this again (like last year), but last night's text was just too much: "Headed to see Sting perform..."

Every December Luke has a business trip to NYC. He always encourages me to come along, but the 2nd week in December isn't exactly an easy time for me to escape to winter wonderland, window displays, and ice skating in Rockefeller Center. So, he leaves with a frown saying he "has" to go and he will miss us. Then yesterday he found out as part of his "work" experience, they were going to attend a Sting concert...(as if that wasn't enough) in a nearly 100-year old Cathedral!

No worries, I have plenty to think about back here on planet earth such as: hosting this month's book club last night, giving the 1st graders a riveting lesson on Michelangelo today, planning our primary Christmas activity for Saturday, and watching Barbara Walters 10 most fascinating people of 2009 tonight (while feasting on my absolute favorite treat: moose munch and not having to share).

Yep, we are doing just fine. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest...feeling much better now. Besides, even Sting can't compare to spending my days with these guys...

We miss you, Luke. Come home soon!
P.S. Luke says his new album If On A Winter's Night is amazing.

I think that was an awesome surprise for Luke. I'm glad you are coping well with him out of town. Your boys beat Sting hands down every time.

A big NO FAIR, and FUN, FUN at the same time. Someday Les, you'll be able to go with him and then you'll be missing those fun times with your little boys.

I ditto what Kimberly said. Let's just hope he is still going to NY at that time. But, oh those boys are cute! I know, that's easy for those of us to say who aren't home alone with them for days on end. Merry Christmas!
