Weekend Getaway

Luke had to conduct H.R. meetings in San Diego this weekend and guess who got to come along? ...Colby and me! (Camden and Jack happily stayed with Brad, Geri and their favorite teenage cousins-thanks again, guys!) This was my first trip to San Diego and I loved it. We walked along the boardwalk at Seaport Villiage, ate lots of good seafood (well, one of us did) including fish tacos which I've always thought sounded gross, but I decided to give them a try and they were delish! We shopped at Horton Plaza, took the ferry to Coronado, and enjoyed the beach Pacific style. Our hotel was right on the bay across from where the cruise ships depart. It was incredible to see the huge naval ships with the aircrafts on top. Great weekend.

I've traveled more in the last four months than ever before (of course it helps that Luke works for an airline). He has more traveling to do this month. I was thinking I'd pack up the boys and head to Idaho to stay with Mom & Dad, but now that I have a kindergartner, there goes that idea. (sheesh, responsibility!)

Hey, Leslie- when I accompanied Dad on a business trip to San Diego five years ago- I remember going over to Coranado Island and seeing the fantastic old hotel there. Just loved the weather and the simple breezes all day- was it a shocker to step back into Salt Lake City heat ? I can't believe how mature Colby is looking - he DEFINITELY has your dark eyes and hair and easy- going disposition. If he has "monkey- toes "agility remains to be seen. Mimi S.

See, having a kid in school changes things...little by little. I'm glad you got to go along on business trip. Fun excuse to get away.

That's right education is very important, not to mention that Kai would be lost if you took Camden away.

I'm glad you were able to get away with Luke.
